Could you send me instructions on how to make this? It would be very much appreciated. I'm only a kid, so a simpler one would do. I don't need one that'll keep the image intact.

The photo is mounted to a tiny disk which contains a magnet. The disk is mounted on a tiny pin. The photo is in the left lobe when the locket is closed. As the lid is rotated, another magnet pulls the photo into position. The same magnet pulls the centered photo over to the left lobe when it is being closed. Magic!

This one is huge! Do you make any that are sanded down?

There are limits to the pull strengths of the various magnets, which depend on size. The locket is made as small as the magnets allow. There is less than 1/32" of wood covering magnets when final sanding is complete. I've made them much smaller, but the smaller, weaker magnets cause them to be far too tricky to work with. In any case, I'm no further making them. Time to move on to other ventures!

I spent over 60 hours on drawings and went through about a half dozen prototypes until I figured out the intricacies. I knew there had to be a way to make it work at least in the same principle as in the movie! - Dan

Wow. That is fantastic. How many hours (days?) does it take to make one of these?

Thanks. I make them in lots of 4 or 5 over a couple of weeks. It's probably about 30 hours per locket with the final finish. I can hardly get one per week out on eBay and it's starting to get old!
