Wanderlust

This song is very close to my heart. I love what Jimmy did with it on the harmonica, totally improvised! This was filmed at the Waltz-Astoria on 11/19/10.

This was one of those songs I had inside just waiting to come out for a long time. I spent a lot of time thinking about how I am pulled in two directions, I want to stay home, get rooted and live a settled life with the girl I love, but I am also constantly pulled to explore and just get on the road. After one of my unplanned road trips, I sat down at home and wrote it in just about as long as it takes to play it, then I left on another trip. I put the finishing touches on it one morning in Griffith Park in LA, so whenever I play it I think of how much I love home, and also of how beautiful that view is of LA, the ocean, the snow capped mountains and the green hills rising out of the city, and I kind of like being torn.
