The Grass Roots perform "Midnight Confessions" July 29, 2009 at Hicksville High School, Long Island, NY.

The Grass Roots were scheduled to play at 8:00 pm, however the weather forecast was for thunderstorms throughout the evening. With dark skies and rain threatening, there was an announcement that a decision was made to begin the show about an hour and a half early in an attempt to beat the rain.

After about 1/2 an hour into the show, the rain began. Rob Grill made an announcement they they would do two more songs and then call it an evening. The first song was Temptation Eyes which they played in the rain, then Midnight Confessions which you are watching now. In this video at about 3:30, you can the crew begin to remove the keyboards as the band was still playing. Also about that time, the lighting changes to the point where you can see the rain.

Watch how quick the crew strikes the stage the minute the music ended!

  • Thanks for posting these recent shows with Rob!! Saw them with Mark Dawson in mid-August, after we'd heard that Rob took ill. However, later it was publicized that Rob's 39-year old son, Christian, had passed away Aug. 11 after a long battle with cancer. Prayers to Rob and his family....

  • Another legend has left us...lets appreciate our legends while they are still with us..
