  • My auger quit too. I narrowed it down to the motor itself. The bearing on the end shaft was one of those cheap bushing style. I need to get a replacement. Ebay sells the same motor about 50 bux cheaper and it has a warranty. Pretty easy fix. I'm glad I didn't have to pay a heater guy to come out for this. Our pellets run $300/ton and being Alaska, we use it pretty extensively during the winter.

  • @radarbrew I started burning hard wood pellets and haven't had any trouble I was burning the cheap ones and it seemed to be clogging up all the time and I was having to clean it all the time. Made a huge difference. The good ones runs about $275 a ton here and the cheap ones about $200. We've had a fairly mild winter so far. Wouldn't mind if that continues.

  • Have you had to use that oil furnace you have in the basement

  • @sirensandhvaczzzszsz Didn't use it much last year. I think we clicked it on once or twice last year just to warm the house up.

  • this is another great video from you mr. peek but I must admit I kept wanting to doze off during this video..not that I was bored by the video..nah cuz I am wicked sleepy and sleepwatchin youtube HaHa

  • @blazerlover25 hahaha.. Okay then. Get some sleep. That's what I'm going to do..

  • @radarbrew I'm just curious where in Alaska? I live in Palmer and priced out pellets before buying a wood stove 2 years ago. They were running around $400+ a ton. Figuring a ton is somewhat equal to a cord of wood that was very expensive.

  • @rpeek huh thats weired that it didnt do it sooner but then im not perfect on doing that either but once in a while i do this it seems to help ease the mind i dont want to have to replace the auger motor lol ive heard they aint cheap ha ha but nothing is these days

  • Looks like alot of work to me.

  • 75 to 80 where im staying at for vacation here in Cambria, californa!
