How to update to iOS 5 (3194 Error Fix)

Im showing you the process i went through when i had the 3194 error and what i did to fix it.

Probably will only work for people that used TinyUmbrella to back up SHSH files on your iphone because tinyumbrella edits your host file, Which is what usually causes this error. (It still wont hurt to try to see if it still works though, even if you have never used tiny umbrella)

PRETTY MUCH ALL YOU DO IS:
Open up tinyumbrella, go to the advanced tab
UNCHECK "Set hosts to cydia on exit"
Close tinyumbrella
RESTART computer (You must restart computer or it wont work)
Then open up itunes, push update
& IT SHOULD WORK.

if it doesnt work, i am sorry ahead of time. so the reason you may be getting the error could be because of your firewall or antivirus software could be blocking itunes when verifying with apple.

@skylosv i just pushed update on itunes and it automatically downloads the latest update which would be 5.0.1 at the moment.

I dont use atnt or verizon so can i still update my iphone becouse last time i tried it wanted like proof of me having atnt r something

@turbosflamas not really sure, since i've never had an unlocked iphone before. but i dont think it would work because all this video is pretty much doing is changing your host file back to how it originally was suppose to be so it would still probabaly have to verify if your phone is at&t or verizon. but yeah honestly im really not that sure.

this work perfectly for me on windows 7 64 bit system, updating iPhone 4s from 5.0 to 5.0.1 as also had no problem updating my iPad 2 from 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 like JLblogR. I did find it strange that we both had same situation, many thanks JLblogR.
