California Wins Little League World Series 8/28/2011 (720p)

Huntington Beach, California defeated Hamamatsu City, Japan in the championship game of the 2011 Little League World Series by a score of 2-1. California won its' second LLWS Championship in three years after a bases loaded single by Nick Pratto scored pinch-runner Eric Anderson.

A few quick notes: The game was originally scheduled to start at 3:00 PM (EDT), but was moved ahead to 12:00 noon in anticipation of Hurricane/TS Irene. However, because of the weather in Williamsport, first pitch was pushed back to the original start time of 3:00. The consolation game, which would have been played between Montana and Mexico, was cancelled.

Second, I watched the game on ESPN, not ABC. The reason for this is because the ABC affiliate (WCVB) in my market was covering Irene at the time of the game.

Finally, I apologize for the audio troubles following the end of the game. I do not know what caused that; it happened live.

The date of this game was Sunday, August 28, 2011 and was called by (the legendary) Brent Musburger and Orel Hershiser.

@Darkstarfoxx Well, as you may or may not know, a then-young man by the name of Jason Varitek played on that same field in the summer of 1984. His team made it all the way to the championship game before losing to Seoul, Korea. We all know what happened to him.

Now, about the whole "next A-Rod" thing...all I have to say is that hopefully the younger generation (current Little League and high school baseball players) avoid PED's, etc.
