  • To tell you the truth, this ASE sytem is BS. If you think about it, it's just another gig for a company to make money. The excuse that you have no evidence of your qualifications is stupid. If you work at an office, store, etc., do you need a license to be able to work at Jewel, blockbuster, etc. I know that the automotive field covers a wide field of information and experience, but like any where else, you get taught in the process.

  • just failed my ase test by four questions, i don't have to prove myself to these asshoes, I want my fucking money back

  • 2 years of experience in the field 0.0 guess doing shit yourself doesn't count huh?

  • Good video. To those that are not ase certified, get certified. Bigger pay and respect from co-workers and customers. So what are you waiting for a engraved invitation. If you are certified awesome job. By the without ase certification, you have no proof of your expertise.

  • Good info.I will keep this video in mind for when im ready to take that test.

  • @bryan23ferra It's just business, different retarded ways of making money. I don't have that much experience as a mechanic, so I'm slow. I can study and pass the ASE certification test's but once I start working in a shop, it's going to be noticeable that I'm slow because I lack experience. It's nice to know your stuff, but if you're not fast enough, the shop may let you go. That's what's happening to me, I graduated from UTI (in auto/diesel), I know a lot of stuff but I don't have experience.

  • @bryan23ferra I have never taken any of the tests. I might take the test's if a job is worth it and if it requires it. These test's are retarded! It's the exact same thing as paying for a sticker for the windshield ($75 for a car in Chicago) and then you have to pay for another sticker on the license plate ($100). I mean, what the hell !? Why do I need another sticker !!? How many students have graduated with a bad ass degree and yet they're struggling to find a job, there are thousands.

  • @EddieNanakase being certified shows that you know what your talking about and doing. To me it sounds like you couldn't pass.

  • To take an Ase test shows that you take pride in your work. I've been Ase certified for eight years, and I will continue to retest

  • @shaochiavang I am an instructor in a two year automotive program. We have a co-op program to help you get a job and you typically have to start at the bottom like any other career. Our graduates tend to move up quicker in position and pay grade than non graduates. While in school they make about 10-12 and hour. By the end of graduation they make about 15 or so.

  • People think just because they can change out parts they are a good technician. ASE is about troubleshooting the new complex systems in vehicles. That's what the questions are geared toward. I agree with others, if you are a good tech you should have no problem passing.

  • @EddieNanakase, of course you need experience, I agree with you there, but people that claims to be good techs, shoud not have a problem passing ase testes, instead of on youtube bitching about ase. we cant change the system, so pass the damn tests and move on. nothing personal
