I bet this kid's brother is big and fat, and greasy.

I have Aspergers. I've known all 50 states & capitals since I was four and I spell on a 20.0 grade level. I also am good at meteorology. At times Aspergers is hard because everybody is like: "Oh! I know how you feel!!!" and they really don't. You don't know how people with Aspergers feel unless you have it! It is very difficult, but it is also very rewarding.

Wow. He's also very mature and intelligent.

@nonnydonny yeah but my brother can't do much. All we can do is send him off to school so he doesn't sit home all day :/

@valval223 no way i have a sister with autism as well. although it must be hard to be a mother taking care of someone who has a disability, you know? you gotta make good decisions

What a mature child! The Asperger's brother is very lucky whether he has the capacity to appreciate now (or ever)!

@Ivanovich997 What would you have your mother do? Kill off the runts of the litter like an insect or an animal. God forbid that you would have an accident that suddenly changed your "normal" state, you would want care. I can understand your frustration and spoiling a child is not right, but why don't you help your brother instead of condeming his condition instead of complaining about it? I do not feel sorry for this child, I admire him. He's learned compassion!

@Ivanovich997 awe :'( i totally agree with you. i have an mentally challenged brother and he's also very spoiled. If he doesn't get something he wants he bites himself or ends up breaking something..which gets a bit annoying. My mom does care about me more though because she does understand that only i can have a future. You can always take care of yourself :)

I've watched the speeches both children have given, the video on how the mom put this together, and now the two interviews with the kids. It's really very fantastic. I love the level of communication here and mom's strategy for including both children so deeply in the process, no judgment, pure curiosity and exploration. While this mom is clearly very special and creative, I think she is also showing how one might go about this process. Must be very challenging and require monumental patience.
I bet they will end up making a time machine, it wouldnt surprise me

gosh i wish i knew you or something, cause my brother is autistic too(and i kinda see myself in your position) (i'm the younger kid too) , but seeing how much you love your brother and understand everything just makes me cry (too much emotion i cant express in words now) . For now all i can say is, Thank you very much for this video. You're a nice kid, much love for you and your brother, take care
