I am not quite sure I understand the first part of your comment, and its connection to readiness. Are you accusing me of waiting too long before adding my two cents? I only discovered this video one month ago. I am not aware of a YouTube policy, official or otherwise, that prohibits or discourages replies to older comments.
Also, why do you equate feminine with dumb? I know several mids (my husband is a Naval officer), male and female, and I did not get that impression at all.
The comment below was not mine. I do not underestimate the importance of team sports. I do believe that participation in a team sport can be a valuable experience - just like dancing.
Don't underestimate the value of participating in a team sport! The lessons learned on the football field , and to a lesser degree, the baseball diamond are highly transferable to a leadership position in both the military and the private sector. As an analogy, think of your academy co-curricular experiences as attending a fine dinner. Football would be one of the choices for the main course and ballroom dancing would be on the dessert menu.
@richrox2 why do we spend money on football programs?
is baseball all That butch?
must we require that everyone only have one gear, knuckledragger?
armed services are NOT about bare aggression, but appropriate force-- and sometimes subtlety and social niceties are more constructive to an objective than just door-knockers.
If I was a person on a sinking ship at the time of my comment(2 mos. ago), I surely would have gone under before I received your response....
Semper Paratus??
The continued feminization of our military academies is really sad(not the fact that women are in attendance, but the feminization(dumbing down) of the guys who are).
Very nice performance! I love dancing, and this is a nice slow waltz. I am so glad to see that the military academies are reintroducing ballroom and formal dance lessons. I've danced with quite a few USNA midshipmen at local balls, and several of them are very good dancers thanks to clubs such as these. Please keep up the good work.
hey this is at the cultural center! i live so close to this place. i'll be up at the coast guard this fri. for ballroom. i haven't done it in a year so i'm a little rusty but i'm excited and can't wait =]

This stuff? Dancing is a form of cultural expression, and an excellent social skill. There should be more instructions like these, not less.

I hope we didn't spend much taxpayer money on this stuff...
