@indigoeventer Lmao if Lake Ontario isn't freshwater then what the hell is it? Saltwater? No, the Great Lakes are all freshwater (as gross as some of there waters are) other wise species that live in them such as bass, walleye and pike would all die. Also yes if you go to the visitors centre in Bon Echo Park it does tell you the deepest part of Mazinaw Lake (North side being deepest) is 475 feet. Although there is a deep ravine i have clocked on my fish finder that runs around 625 feet.

@supermoto3453 Mazinaw Lake is the deepest fresh water lake in Ontario...it's 475 feet deep at its deepest point and it's GORGEOUS. But if you like Mazinaw you should also check out Kashwakamak Lake a few kms south. The great Lakes are deeper (Lake Ontario is 802 feet deep) but they aren't fresh water. Mazinaw and Kashwakamak are so clean you can drink the water right out of the lake...scientists say so (but fish and birds poop in it so it's best to treat it first)

@supermoto3453 The deepest point of Mazinaw is actually around 450ft. Still, pretty deep though!

I know from snorkeling that there's a big thermocline in Mazinaw Lake. I'd love to dive at the cliffs though, instead of snorkeling at the beach!

We only went to 100 ft. A very unique site, and it's the second deepest lake in Ontario.
