Who doesn't remember them? Singing sharp 4 part harmony alongside Robert Preston in the film version of Meredith Wilson's THE MUSIC MAN? They may have even been the inspiration you chose to sing some 4-part harmony once in a while. Or at least harmonize along with them when watching a DVD of the movie. Lida Rose? Anyone? Well, as part of a loving tribute to the memory of Vern Reed, THE ACOUSTIX saluted him and all the Bills in a special video and live performance at their International gathering a few years back. See what made the Bills special... and what inspired ACOUSTIX to follow in their Championship footsteps by inspiring a new generation of barbershoppers!

  • jimvt75,I didn't know Vern lived in Burlington. I wish i new, i would have looked him up. The Buffalo Bills have always been a favorite of mine.....Have great memories sitting in front of the hi fi with my Dad listening to ther albums.

  • The complete clip of the song the Bills and Perry Como sang is in my videos.

  • Back in 1976 I came to Burlington VT to take over as CEO of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce.

For years before that my wife and I wore out all the "Bills" lps and "The Music Man"

Imagine my surprise when I first met with one of the Chamber's volunteer committees and was introduced to Vern Reed who owned a leather shop in town

"Vern", I said, "I don't need any introduction, I've know you and your music for

    years ."

He still had a great voice!

  • Beautiful!!!

  • The Buffalo Bills were amazing. Vern Reed will always be a legend in the real music community. Unbelievable talent.

  • Indeed, the Buffalo Bills in the Music Man were my original & coveted memories of Barbershop. I was fortunate enough to have met a couple of the Acoustix at a Dallas Maverick's game several weeks ago & let them know they're my 21st century Buffalo Bills. Great Stuff.

  • Amazing!!
