IMO, Dana has seen an authority figure promote the thermate theory. The theory sounds logical and seems to have evidence. It's black and white. So simple.

I've never seen an attempted debunking of controlled demolition theory, that included eyewitness testimony. They all use computer models, or completely hypothetical scenarios, that ignore what people actually on the ground said that they saw and heard.
