**Sorry for what happens at 3:35 - the camcorder battery died and had to be replaced. In an attempt to keep the climax of the 1st mvt , an audio portion from another performanceon the same piano was inserted. Again, I apologize for the loss of video/audio quality.

  • @christineisfullofit The beauty in music is that a strong individual will try to realize his/her own philosophy and ideals in each piece of music. While I disagree with your comments, in a sense I am somewhat heartened by them since generic playing will not elicit any sort of response, whereas the true individualists of the past (including, but not limited to Schnabel, Cortot, Pogorelich, Horowitz, Pletnev to name a few) all garnered much praise as well as criticism from listeners.

  • @christineisfullofit Everyone has a different interpretation of music, which is what makes music such a fascinating journey into each musician's philosophy, intellect, and emotion. Have you heard Cortot's recording? Arguably the greatest Chopin interpreter since the dawn of the first recording, Cortot seems to share quite a few of the dramatic aspects of this fatalistic sonata. Of course, he does so many things differently, but the spirit is there.

  • it's not rachmaninoff...you didn't capture the essence of chopin, simply over-romanticized everything.
