the extra battery is for the clock i think. if you take the main battery out, there it a little cover that you take off and you put the battery in there.

the little battery is to keep the internal clock running while the big battery is detached there is a little cover under the big battery to put it in

the second battery is for the backup, mine is within the lcd screen... it will run on that for extra juice if you didn't have your charger with you

my favorite thing about this camera is the zoom, I use it to "film" Klaytoons!

ur the one that is an "ass fuck" it is a battery retard, the lens cap is built into the camera.. think before you speak

The little litium battery that goes into the camera is used to keep the time. Just that. And some parameters. If you remove it, you will loose the date, the time, etc.
