ps - whoever brought this little girl up, well done. She is truly magical. To see a youngster who can speak so clearly and objectively, and with genuine feelinng for what she is saying (withouth being "childish" or arrogant), is marvellous.
Lets hope she is president, one day (and i think that really is possible).

@abbehbazooka: If we do not need more humans in this world why we do not start by killing you and your family and also the women and men who are having sex and do not want to be responsible for their actions? If we want to be radical, let take it radical than...

Well tell me this, those 42 Million Abortees... Don't you think those were meant to be? I mean just think, the world is definately going down hill from here, and we don't need more humans here to help. Plus, what if those women CAN'T take care of those children? Do we really need MORE screwed up children in the world? I'm not against abortion nor am I for it, but under the cercumstances, I'm sure most of those women made the right choice. Abortion isn't ALWAYS bad :P

Although I think this girl was well spoken and obviously well educated on the matter, I completely disagree with everything she said.
I believe that the rights of the Mother are always more important then the "rights" of a embryo. Plus I'm extremely non religious, and I think religion needs to be taken out of the Abortion debate, because a lot of people do not fear god, nor believe that God was the creator of man kind. If people want to debate Abortion give the scientific facts.

amazing for someone so young. heck, amazing for someone at all. the ignorance on this issue never ceases to amaze me.

eggs aren't chicken abortions they're like chicken menstruation.
Many children who are born into the arms of a woman who wished to abort them are born into a life filled with hardships. What about kids whose parents don't love them? Kids whose parents don't have enough money to give them a proper bed or toys? Kids (not all, but most) who are brought up in these kinds of environments grow to be drug addicts, delinquents and thorns in society. These people had terrible childhoods and are leading depressing lives.

@lellieberry Your argument doesn't work for the simple fact that no one says such a thing about children after birth. Is certain death really the answer to potential neglect or abuse? If someone's right to life truly were established or removed based simply on their "wantedness", what would that mean for the homeless, the aged or the infirm?
TVCatholic 1 year ago
@lellieberry In the broadest sense, the whole discussion of "wantedness" ignores a substantial reality. Even if the biological parents want nothing to do with their offspring, there are families all over the nation waiting desperately to adopt a baby, families who are willing to adopt diseased babies of any race or ethnicity.

@lellieberry Something as subjective as "wantedness" can never be the basis for granting someone the right to life, and abortion advocates know this. They don't argue that mothers should be free to kill their "unwanted" children after birth because they know these children are living, human beings with full rights of personhood.

@lellieberry The only reason they argue that mothers should be free to kill their unwanted children before birth is because they're ignoring the SCIENTIFIC REALITY that these children, too, are living, human beings. The question is humanity, not wantedness.
