Part 7
I have recorded a video of this Droid/Robot/Cyborg/"Destroyer-Droid" modeling process, edited the video to eight parts and I'll upload them one by one. I use Wings3D but software is irrelevant, Wings, Blender, Softimage, 3ds Max, Maya, Lightwave or whatever have the same toolset some named differently, but move, rotate, scale, extrude etc are standard.
I've used Wings3D 1.1.6 (which is not the recent version but I'm used to it), I use Maya camera mode because of [Alt]-LeftClick rotation. I usually start with a cube, cut it in half, select & delete one half and then mirror the remaining geometry, the rest of the process is pretty basic: extrude, rotate, flatten, scale, connect, inset, bridge faces etc(all commands accessible from Right-Cick menu), I have 'T' for 'tweak'.
