Two World War II vintage planes collide at air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A propeller-driven Corsair was taking off when it clipped the wing of another plane still on the ground. The Corsair continued down the runway, hitting the ground and cart wheeling before exploding into flames. The accident left one pilot in serious condition.

Poor communication between the tower, the ground "air boss", and the pilots. Take off clearance was not properly communicated.

  • @PanzerAngriff

    Both planes are being rebuilt.

Lad Doctor, the Corsair pilot, was left quadriplegic after the accident and was involved in a bitter lawsuit. Failed communication and takeoff clearance was the cause.

  • My grandfather flew these in the Solomans. Rough take off...

  • @aLinuxTV You sir......are an idiot....

  • @4Firearms 49 seconds from when the aircraft hit untill the video ends!!!! Hmmmm! Who where you expecting Superman or Spiderman? That as well is called sarcasm.

  • @KentuckyGirl888 Can I ask wat happened? I fly both Helicopters and planes, it seems there was a malfunction in communication. The crashed aircraft was on the roll behind the first two. Could also be camera angle but looks to me the Lad jumped the gun. Hope your step dad is doing OK.

  • @PanzerAngriff "RIP airplane. Irreplaceable."

Just so you know, nothing lasts forever and by the way, a group is building 5 Corsairs from scratch. Exact replicas using the original blueprints, they are working on the main spars right now.

Now for a reality check, look around you now, everything you see will be gone one day. Use it up and enjoy it!

  • @PanzerAngriff

Who cares about that piece of metal.

  • RIP airplane. Irreplaceable.
