Even before the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, a state of the art center for first responders was already in the planning at Owens Community College in Perrysburg Township.
Some eight years after the tragic events, OCC unveiled its new virtual training set on Friday.
The new training center is first of its kind in the region and in the United States.
The 28,000-square-foot facility was created for training and educating emergency services professionals. The cutting-edge indoor training system creates realistic training scenarios for first responders who may be faced with life-threatening situations.
