Auntie Val and I travelled to East Hampton to see Grey Gardens. We then walked down to the beach where Little Edie swam. Then onto the East Hampton Cemetery to see Big Edies resting place. Later in my trip cousin Steve took me up to Locust Valley Cemetery, the resting place of Little Edie. Here are some of the photos of our epic journey. x

  • Thanks, that beach was the most peaceful place I've ever been :-)

  • Hiya, they dont have tours! I was just a bit cheeky and asked! I'll check out the yahoo group thanks.

  • Thanks Rubiglo, it was a very special trip, this version of the song is by The Boswell Sisters, but was originally by Dick Haymes & Helen Forrest.

    Happy Birthday little Edie x x x

  • Left to rot? Pffft. That comment is inane. Poverty isn't exclusive to the inner cities or those without famous relatives. They sold their jewelry piece by piece just to eat. Assuming you consider consuming cat food eating. They were staunch women, indeed.

Thanks for posting this lizm. So glad Edie stood her ground and refused to sell it as a teardown.

  • the music was waaaay before my time but i like it! not the crap we have now.

  • Thanks for sharing! If I were visiting East Hampton, I don’t think I’d be able to live with myself if I didn’t ask the owners if I could tour the house and grounds. If they were to turn me down, I’d certainly understand, but I’d have to at least try!

  • Great video! It makes me sad that they are both gone. :(

  • So that's what the house looks in its glory and after the lawn gets mowed,so sad that such a great home was left to rot by Miss.Edie Bouvier Beale. And it was shocking that an aunt of Jacqueline Kennedy lived in such horrible conditions,I wonder why Jacqueline lost contact with her aunt and only was aware of them after they were about to be evicted.
