Contrary to media portrayals of sexual assault, most sexual assualts are not committed by a "complete stranger in the dark". In fact, on college campuses, 95% of all assaults and nationally, 85% of all assaults occur by someone the survivor knows.
Men can do a lot to prevent sexual assualt and we don't mean violence.
Talk to other men about ending rape; look at how society and the media send messages that create a culture where sexual assault occurs; interrupt jokes that perpetuate attitudes that endorse sexual assault; and challenge images of violence against women in advertising and pornography.
