I think it was implied that the aliens were just drones, or workers. Any questions they were asked they probably weren't even told the answers to upon leaving. Plus, these little ETs didn't seem too smart. Like if the majority of them came from the Deep South of their planet.

And the ship was going back to the alien homeworld. Christopher said so.

Also, I'm betting that the aliens weren't expecting to find a planet with life.

This movie kicks Avatar stright in the blue balls! IMO (fan boys take a chill pill) District 9 is a great movie! Oh and as for the humans not being portrayed right, to quote Alan Moore "if there had been a superman ever, the world would unrecognizable today" the same can be said about aliens and of this kind of scenario.

@MrBOPESquad2 its not a mish mash, its uses ideas to create something fresh and new, because lord knows that weve been givin crap in 2009. this is wat science fiction shuld be like, and if this was released back when science fiction was good, then it wuldve been shelved as a great peice of sci-fi. tsk tsk lack of imnagination

I agree, I really liked this movie. I didn't know what to expect and it blew me away. It had a great premise and great characters that you liked. I particularly liked Christopher and Oliver (the father and son alien) the best. I also fucking loved those weapons. I love sci-fi/action movies that blow shit up (and I'm a girl!). WOO!
