Sadly, Borders is now closed. The OTIS Series 1, Schindler single file escalators and amazing Burlington/Burwak freight elevator are now inaccessible until the store area is reoccupied. Tomorrow, a special announcement is going to be made about the W290, as this is the final, that's right final video that the W290 has taken. Stay tuned for some awesome news tomorrow!

  • noooo not the red classic spector alert celing mount horn strobes

  • That was a nice elevator. You should have asked the front desk at Borders if you could buy the elevator parts LOL! That would have been a priceless reaction! :)

  • BOOKS-A-MILLION IS BUYING BORDERS

  • @suzzex

Don't you just, loooove, a BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!! BEEP!

  • @georgef551 LOL my mom loves that store. Filechia found one with a 330YAY!

  • @suzzex I bet they did. My dad has one and loves it, but still occasionally will buy an actual book. It's just more convenient for people to have a million books on such a small device. Even iPods/Pads have e-reader apps now.

  • @suzzex

If any electronics store want to go up against Best Buy, good luck. None of them seem to survive here. Best Buy is the only one to ever accomplish it.

I'm cringing at the thought a Christmas Tree Shop might go in. It's stable, but there's one part of the mall I don't plan on visiting again, if that happens.

  • @georgef551 Well, I hope something worthy takes its place! :)

  • @alexweb8 I wouldn't be surprised if the e-readers had something to do with this.

  • @suzzex Initially, there had been some rumors about B&N buying the Borders chain, but shortly after, B&N's profits began to decline more rapidly as well. I had gone to Smith Haven Waldenbooks closing, and the closing of Borders Commack. The demand for books must be declining quickly. Borders would have done better on

LI in the 2000s if they had been able to pick up the gigantic mall stores that B&N took. Both Borders and B&N were forced to close smaller stores like Waldens and B. Dalton.
