@igrenade its all these MMA fans, blame them, they say aikido doesnt work in MMA and seagal is the best known user of aikido in films on tv n all that so they disrespect him, comparing him to an MMA fighter, they sadly dont understand that aikido was never designed for duels in a cage, aikido is for self defence and when someone attacks you on the streets they dont know you know aikido, so they dont expect it, in MMA they know, so they know what to expect, but thats the main reason
