On a recent business trip to New Orleans I met Henry Wallace, a schizophrenic artist outside of Pat O'Brien's. He took time to explain his artwork, his vision, and the poem on the back of his drawing.

  • he's in a good phase. I'm not right now. It sucks speaking in tongues because it does make sense. I totally understood you, learn sanskrit with the rest of us.

  • yes... I'm not schizophrenic but I completely understand since I can choose to see it at time. You can find patterns and connections from the parts and create them into a greater whole. They only exist sometimes in "reality" but are so beautiful

  • I have schizophrenia. I love connecting the dots. It becomes dangerous though, because only half my connections are actually logical. The beauty, though, is that the connections that are logical tend to be plain brilliant. Its a question of distilling the connections that are brilliant from the connections that are random. The words of a schizophrenic are like gems in a swamp, you just have to find the gem

  • I diagnosed myself long before any doctor found out about me. I watched my life and mental structure and process morph slowly into a very particularized and richly detailed whole. Here's the thing: reality isn't what we make it... our lives are, though, definitely. Only in as much as our lives constitute the nature of reality, that makes reality ALIVE and rEVOLUTIONARY, not an arbitrary construct... mainstream culture is more disconnected from our real nature than the -healthy- schizophrenic

  • No,

there's the illusion, which most people in society act under i.e. mainstream culture

There's the delusion, which is what's outside that, the people who go against mainstream and form opinions not accepted by the majority,

    and there's the pinnacle,

the people who drive progress, put the two together and move society forward... who are a chosen few.

there's no such thing as true reality because each person's reality is different...

It's just who you are that defines it

    sounds good

  • WELL SAID

  • a frog look like a prince

  • Wow. Thanks for your words.

  • why? u started this and now you can't finish it? this isn't spelling school man and i have nothing to prove to you. u can stop being my opponent in trivial ways and start being my friend in profound ways anytime you want.
