You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Basic N, or Windows Vista Home Premium. You can, however, connect from those editions of Windows Vista to computers running other versions of Windows.

poor tutorial because you actaully never demonstrated connection!
I am trying to connect from Vista to Win 7 and keep getting Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer. I get this both directions.

Any vista home edition won't have those options, you need a higher version of vista, like vista ultimate

hi guys, I have a laptop and a pc
now i wanna control my pc through laptop
so when i try to connect to my pc
username ans password dialog box appears
so who's username and password i should put, LAPTOP'S or PC's . ?????

Your PC's ID and password for logging onto windows is what you enter since you are connecting to your PC from your laptop.

this is killing me.. its not working for me...
what remote ip do i use.(not lan)
and who do i log in as. a user on the remote pc or my pc? and if the remote pc. do i use their password.

use the remote pc's ip. use the remote pc's user id and their password yes.
