This video shows the very first screen when a Dell PowerEdge T110 server is starting up. You can't even hear the fan it's so quiet.

  • When an OS boots, there are always files working to ensure propper operation. This applies to both linux and Windows alike. It probably even applies to the large-scale mainframes as well, though i've never worked with those.

  • What files? If you mean the operating system files, then yes.

  • You have to ensure that you can reach the BIOS if you can't get into the CD drive right away. I have never heard of that message popping up on a server before. You should maybe call dell. They will be more helpful than I can be at this point.

  • I dont quite understand how i would put servers on it. I would first want to make a Minecraft and Terraria server. How would i port-forward these or run them at all?

  • @lunaleaf You would get the server and then put the software for the game servers on top of the Windows OS. You'd probably want a bigger server for your purposes though. you might want either a T310 or a T410. I'm using my server for my web site and as an application server. And port forwarding is easily done. All you do is ensure that your internal IP is static, forward the needed ports, and then if needed, sign up for a dynamic DNS account at either no-Ip or dyndns.org.
