I think these bikes were designed without a seat so the riders huge brass balls had a place to swing!

@nathand612 pretty much they mostly sit on top of massive jumps so if the rider only gets a front tyre up they will grab it to prevent him from falling backwards down a massive drop which could result in broken backs.

@nathand612 they are there to make sure the rider and his bike dont fall of a 20 foot wire wheel lol. like if he falls the catch his bike and him. (reduced risk) if no1 gets hurt the sport will live on
