Grant Harley, Ph.D. student in Geography at the University of Tennessee, collects an increment core from a Florida slash pine on Big Pine Key in the Florida Keys. Mr. Harley's Ph.D. advisor is Dr. Henri Grissino-Mayer, Director of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Science and Professor of Geography at the University of Tennessee. This video was taken by Dr. Sally Horn during field work funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Grant Harley's Ph.D. research is also supported by a Doctoral Dissertation Research grant from the National Science Foundation.
