Sexy, spacey music from microtonal world. I heard this 8 note scale of 22-tet used by City of the Asleep and I composed Ganymede in the same scale. If you want to avoid the poor sound quality of youtube, download the album for free at http://split-notes.com/spnt001.php in high quality FLAC format or mp3. Once I've made videos for every track on Golden Hour I'll be uploading new unreleased stuff.. :)

  • OMG you are the microtonal Bach!!! really, i never thought such an weird temperament would sound so well! 14, 19, and 22 tet are the best ones!

    what kind of software did you use to compose it? and hardware, any generic keyboard midi controler?

  • @ericoschmitt I used software called "Scala" to do the retuning. I played this on a generic MIDI keyboard, I think it was the Yamaha S03 I sold a few months ago. It was produced with FL Studio.

    Each and every tuning between 14 and 22 is unique and useful. Have you heard any 17-tet yet? Try this one by William Sethares: _mck2PcsZ44

  • I very much enjoyed this. I admire both your percussion parts and your use of melody and harmony. Which tune by City Of The Asleep uses this scale and which notes of 22 edo are in the scale?

  • @MarkAllanBarnes "Dragged By A Storm Across the Desert Years" 22 notes-per-octave, sssLsssssL

    L=163.636, s=109.091

  • Which scale has the more traditional bluesy feel?

  • This is awesome! Out of all of the non-conventional tunings I've heard this is my favourite so far, and I love the track. Nice one :)

  • A very addictive track and probably the best microtonal music I've heard. Keep up the good work!

  • the best microtonal techno i have heard so far. i'm working on instruments to blur the lines between fretless, just, and equal temperments. will be giving you guys a lot of listening.
