@timjo13 why would you? Is it hard to find Spam where you are? It's sold in almost every supermarket in the United States in the canned meats section. I don't think you'd want to make it your own. Then it wouldn't be SPAM.

@illinifan512 I guess that would work. A toaster oven would be more like broiling the spam, which will still get some of the fat to caramelize. I just can't get past eating Spam straight out of the can.

I really enjoyed your video. I love spam and I have a friend that lives in HI (I'm in Houston, Texas) that mentioned this to me so naturally I searched for some information on it and found your tutorial. I love how you used the spam can to make the mold. I'm going to have to try this soon!

instead of frying the spam, try boiling it in a pot with half and half water n shoyu (soy sauce), and lots of sugar for a about 10 minutes. The spam will be a lot better.

@0347Pmauleon yes u can u need to use oil or vegi oil for it
-
@0347Pmauleon It won't stick together so I'd say no.

If you use white rice, just add some rice vinegar to it so that it would become sticky!
voila!
OMG!! I love your tutorial!! So simple and easy to understand!! :D :D :D
I am going to make this for my friend on her birthday!! My only problem is that I don't know how to make sticky rice. -____- I only know how to make regular rice. Dx

@123emyeuanh You don't need to make sticky rice. You just need to use sushi rice, the short grain. Cook it the same way you cook regular rice.

did you put in any oil or something before you put the spam on to fry?

@x3linhvuonggg I used a non-stick skillet and with SPAM, it gives off enough fat. But if you want you can put just a tad, like half a tablespoon. I wouldn't put a lot.

can you use normal white rice instead of using sushi rice?
0347Pmauleon 3 months ago
@0347Pmauleon Sushi rice is a bit more sticky and will hold together better. I woudn't recommend normal white rice because it'll fall apart.
