I think you might be right...actually, it's a pretty well known fact that Ray almost never got started because he was so terribly afraid of performing in front of people. He's (from what I've heard) a little bit of a social hermit. Then again, I'm not here to hang out with him or hear him crack jokes. The music is all I want...

Yes this is an older song redone, it was originally written for Ottis Redding but he died before he could record it so the Bee Gees did it instead. Other famous artists have also done it as well such as Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, and Rod Stewart.
