Shonna told me the story about how the older soul bass players always preffered the sound of old dead flat wounds. Guys likeDavid Hood, Duck Dunn and James Jameson would never change their strings, and in the odd event that one would break, they would use chicken grease to deaden up the new string(s). Shonna is so natural in the kitchen I thought it would be fun to show this as an intro to our cooking show. The Eddie Hinton song "Cook For me Mama" couldn't be better.
