A revisit to the large ficus tree that we worked on last year, and some extensive pruning and shaping activity to bring it closer to being a bonsai. For more bonsai info, books, tools and supplies, http://www.kuromatsubonsai.com

  • Great videos. I was wondering when you were coming back. I am new to bonsai and your vids have been very helpful. I am looking at buying my first set of tools. Which do you use/recommend? Thanks alot.

  • @xwarmouthx If you have the money, buy stainless tools from Joshua Roth. If you are on a budget, then get some cheap tools from Ebay, and replace them later as you become more proficient in bonsai.

  • I appreciate your work, and how you pronounce Bonsai. Bone-sy..

Is there a werbsite i can go to and order ficus trees that are already growing?

Our town is small and the green houses just dont have them...

    Thanks

  • @bd1965 Try Miami Tropical Bonsai, or My Bonsai Buddy. Youtube will not let me write URL's, so you'll have to look them up.

  • Hi Chasnsx in The UK autumn is comming up and that means conkors which is Horse chestnut do horse chesnut make good bonsai because of the size of the leafs this may be a problem

  • your the best example in youtube i found for bonsai and really like your work.

what i would like to ask is if you could give me an idea on what to do with a small ficus i have.

it was given to me by my grandmother at the edge of life after taking it out of a small put and replacing the old dry dirt i found that it hardly had any roots. when i fanny menage to get it back to life i cut off part of the top because it had been damaged over the lack of watering,

  • from my grandmother after research and proper care it came back to full life and is now beautiful with a blush of green liefs. the on thing is that i still do not know what the actual name is since i cant tell the difference from focuses. i also do not know what to do with the branches and would like to know if you would give me some tips on it?
