Brian Holton plays two Selkirk Common Riding songs on a Blue Lion 6-string Force-d'Ossché dulcimer: "Maggie" is an American 19th century parlor ballad, while "Riders of the Marches", written by Jack Harper, is the song sung in Selkirk to the second tune, another parlor ballad chosen by Selkirk Silver Band bandmaster Chris Reekie in the Victorian period.

  • Please say hello to Jack - he might remember me from the days I worked in the museum in Selkirk, or from my days with Radio Tweed.
