  • Being a big Fan of Oh Mr Porter I would like to Point out to you in the closing shot of your film you had your Hand on a Post. This Post is the one that the Mad Passengers came through to see Will Hay demanding trains to the Tickets the have bought,

& as a big fan I have a Prop from the film that was used Its the Fork that was used to turn the Bacon over that they were having for breakfast. May thanks for doing this great Video of what was & in my mind a great film .

  • Thanks for the information and I'm glad you enjoyed the film. Follow up coming soon. Watch this space...

  • I enjoyed the video. Didn't quite catch the locations you mentioned - near to Basingstoke? I often watch Oh Mr Porter with my son, John, especially on rainy afternoons.

    Thanks

  • It was near a place called Cliddesdon, I don't think I could find my way to Buggleskelly again though... perhaps I imagined it all in the first place...

  • You know, having just watched the movie again.... The fence post you feature is identical to the one in the scene where the idiotic postman tells Willie "You're wasting your time".

  • Thanks for your kind comments. I think you may be right about the fence post. I would like to go back there again, if I can find the way...

  • you can find the site on google earth. find cliddesdon then you can see the straight line of the track bed.

Thank you so much for posting this- it was a mission I often thought I'd like to do, track down the site- but it does not really seem worth it now. nothing to see

  • That was cute, I really enjoyed that

  • my nan saw them making this film back in the day, along with the other gainsborough film "the wrecker" filmed on the same line.visited this site in the summer, not alot remains, just a bit of brickwork poking out of the grass and the railway cottages.i thought at the time they should put a plaque up to commemorate the filming location as there is nothing really for fans to see,but its always great to know you have trod the same hallowed turf as will hay & co.

  • well done boys ,me and my brother drove to clidderston from swansea wales and my wife thought we where nutts,it is a lovely place and it was worth every mile,10,514 hits, that tells you somthing .

  • Thankyou for this video.Oh MR PORTER one of the greatest comedy films ever made.

  • I have met his grand daughter and her son and they are fantastic people.....
