Sorry to burst your bubble, but just because you remember it that way does not make it so. Conflict is part of the human condition, that you were not aware of it or that you lived in a safe prosperous country is more the luck of having been born in those circumstances. Those facts do not diminish the beauty that exists, it merely makes them more precious.

What are you talking about? Conflict doesn't mean war. Just because you live peacefully, you can still have your argues. But the modern world is so stressed and frustrated, and this song reminds me of the time, before 911. Before the world moved into the whole Anti-terror period.

Before 9/11? How far do you want to go back? Bombing of Beirut (1982)? The USS Cole, The first bombing of the World Trade Center (1993)? Before WWI & WWII. The bombing of the 2 US Embassies in Africa(1996)? Not dealing with them does not mean they dont exist. Diligence and strength are what prevent these things from happening. As I said, does not make the existence of beauty any less so.

Dude, who are "them"?
Its not like stopping Al Quaeda would stop terrorism from happening altogether....
Most of the times, terrorists are people who feel robbed of either their land, ressources, or right to choose their own governemental/economico-social system, and sometimes, rightfully so...

Terrorism is no answer to those issues, but as long as there are unfair situations (or situations that feel unfair), it will exist...

You mean like the last guy who was the son of a wealthy Nigerian banker?

These terrorists come from countries where there is oil wealth and the government, as opposed to America where there is socio-economic freedom.

The backwards culture that permeates the Arab-Islamist world is no fault of ours.
Thats who THEM is.

And "dealing with [current terrorists]" might not be the way to resolve it long term. Altough I dont pretend to have a clue how to do so....

And, well, to prevent horrible things like 911 from happening, you sure still have to deal with current terrorists; but as long as "background" issues exist (neocolonialism, unfair application of liberalism (the WTO being much more "cool" with USA and EU), huge cultural differences (including religious fantisms), ...) terrorism will, sadly

but beauty too
