video begins above the plane of the solar system, lock to Sol; date 16 Jan 2009
first part shows orbital relationships - earth has the inside track and laps Jupiter
notice at the start, the sun lies between the earth and jupiter, which is why in the other movie it's daylight when we begin. as each planet changes position, jupiter begins to be seen at nighttime.
begins 12 Jan 2009 ends 31 Jan 2010

second part switches to a lock on earth (red orbit path shown) which allows us to view, from above, how Jupiter appears to move through the sky when viewed form earth's surface
same dates as before

video was made using Celestia

  • Excellent graphics and illustration of the heliocentric and Tycho Brahe geocentrist models. Two immediate problems in the geo model is that mars never gets that close to the earth and why would the outer planets revolve the sun if the earth had such gravitational strength on the sun or is it attracted by gravity? Lots left to ponder if the TB geo model is/were true.

  • brilliant work honey!!!
