  • These Vids from studiotrans are just great...Any serious player should take notice of Leo's usage of his right hand thumb in Ojo...This alone makes Ojo compulsery learning in developing ones guitar skills. HK

  • thats priceless: "oh for crying out loud".

  • Very nice.

  • I go to Santa Cruz once yearly and chill out and play banjo. You can hear me playing in the courtyard at lunchtime. Anyway, i was amazed when I saw the first picture here because this theater is right in front of where I play. Courtyard in Santa Cruz, very cool place.

  • The dude is 63 in this. People who play music can relate to how fking incredibly difficult it is to stay in your prime. Most peoples skill would have taken a heavy blow being that old. Kotke is showing some rust but still one of the best guitar players alive. Just goes to show how amazing he is.

  • It's so great that he still goes on tours...

Leo Kottke, Peter Lang and Michael Hedges... Are those type of people that encourage you to never stop practicing!

  • I saw him this past September, and when he played a bit he didn't like, he just said, "I'm going to do something Britney Spears can't do, and just start over". I don't know if I enjoyed his humor or his guitar playing more...he is a great show to see. No big production...in fact, he used a pliers to turn one of the tuners that broke on his guitar...very funny! I'm pretty sure Taylor would be glad to send him a new "Leo Kottke model", so I am sure it was part of his act.

  • I have seen him live in small concert venues twice and he is hilarious as well as being a master of music and the guitar.

  • this makes me smile

  • "You see...he's not a machine! He's a man!"

Always gives me hope to see someone of Kottke's caliber make a mistake. But I'd still bet that Dude could play the thing telepathically if he wanted to. Anyway...awesome. Thanx for the post.

  • I can't believe he had to start over on this song. He normaly plays flawless performances.

"For crying out load", that was just classic!

    Thanks for posting this!!!!!
