With the U.S. Capitol as a backdrop, speakers at GW's Commencement ceremony this morning told graduates to continue their dedication to making the world a better place, to advocate for those in need and to take chances.
One of the university's newest alumni, student speaker Collin Stevenson, B.A. '09, M.A. '11, said GW students strive "for nothing less than changing the world."
"Through your time at GW, through your experiences, you've learned that the world is plagued by seemingly insurmountable challenges," said Mr. Stevenson, who was selected as student speaker through a university-wide competition. "But equipped with your passions and armed with your education, I have no doubt that you will absolutely change a world for someone, for some family, for some community, for some city and for some nation."
Great and rather touching speech!
