Fred Penner & family perform live (2002)

When the CBC Television 50th Anniversary train arrived in Winnipeg in 2002, CBC Manitoba had a two-hour newscast/special at the Union Station, looking back at the history of CBWT. Fred Penner was the star of the children's series "Fred Penner's Place" from 1985 to 1997, taped mostly at CBC Manitoba. In this segment, Fred Penner is now part of a family band called the Penner Pack, and they perform live at the station. Also watch as Jennifer Rattray fumbles as she interviews children.

I went to a Fred Penner concert today! I only had to wait over a decade to see him! Met him briefly after the show and he is one of the nicest people around...go figure eh! He makes me proud to be a canadian!
