It happened on the Dennis James version once in 1972. Each contestant won the showcase they bid on.

This raises an interesting question: has there ever been a tie in the Showcase? In other words, both contestants' bids were off by the exact amount?

Interesting to note though, is if you look at percent difference, the $1 record is 0.31% of the lowest bid difference and 0.00042% of the lowest bid amount, while this is 0.26% of the lowest bid difference and 0.00026% of the lowest bid amount. So, this is actually closer considering the higher prices.
