A rather violent Punch and Judy

This is a short animation printed on 35 mm film,forming an endless loop. It was made in Germany in the first decades of the 20th century
It shows the well known puppets Punch and Judy (in Germany known as Kasperl und Gretl) in a scene that is typical to the traditional Punch an Judy play: they are hitting eachother on the heads.
This act of violence becomes much more graphic in this simple animation. When mister Punch hits judy on the nose, we can even see the blood coming out.
The beginning and end of this film were mounted together so this scene could last forever.
Punch and Judy hitting eachother endlessly, in times that divorce was unthinkable.
