Pole Position on Atari 2600 retro games console

Gameplay from Pole Position playing on an Atari 2600 VCS retro games console. Retro gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

@rtrgrl78 At the end of the day, Enduro by Activision was out at the same time as this, and makes Pole Position look just plain silly in comparison. Doesn't matter what year it was... the console was capable of much better games.

Why can't people who shows some gameplay footage on Youtube just shut the hell up ? Face it : We're NOT interested in your comments unless you really have something interesting to say. Which you don't. Sorry, it's not against you particularly, but I'm sick of the dozens of Youtube gameplay footage SPOILED by dumb useless audio comments from the uploader.

I'd strongly recommend getting Activision's Enduro rather than this.

I do think that the engine sound and tire noise is better in pole position then in Enduro, but Enduro had better gameplay. the car you are driving does look better in pole position then enduro as well.

@rtrgrl78 well in 1983 the Atari 2600 was already outdated but considering this is running in 128 bytes of RAM with no screen memory it looks and moves pretty good!!!

pole position has a bigger play field and better graphics for the player car and street. but enduro is better, yes (we had enduro in the 2600 days, not pole position) :)

I think you are being a little hard on the game. Granted, it's no Enduro, but overall it isn't that bad of a racing game for the 2600. Are you doing a blot tv tonight?

@SteveBenway sorry am going to beg to differ here, Enduro may have a little better in gameplay but graphically it lets itself down, for me anyway.
