Robby Kenner, director of the film "Food, Inc.", teamed up with the Just Label It campaign to create a new video, "Labels Matter." Genetically engineered food is commonplace on supermarket shelves today, but food manufacturers aren't required to disclose GMO ingredients on the label. We have a right to know what's in our food!

  • @shaman2shaman I'm 'replying' to myself here, to add that the whole labeling thing really needs and honesty revamp , too-- 'natural' (eg on a label does not mean what it sounds like.. and many things are not required to be on the labeling at all, that we might well also want to avoid IF we REALLLLY KNEW what was in the dang package or on (and IN) the plastic meat or produce tray!

  • Lilla The government may not be your nanny BUT if food isn't labeled so the real parents can make non-GMO food decisions for themselves then in the ABSENCE of providing INFORMATION the government is 'bad-nannying' in HEALTH CONSEQUENCES (and expenses) for people that they themselves would have chosen to avoid IF they had the information to make an informed choice in the supermarket in the first place. JUST LABEL IT.

  • If we don't buy it, they won't make it. Inform everyone you know. It's the fastest way.

  • Great video! I am so ready for this! Its about time. I talk about it.

  • @reachtrita Economics interests, Corps like Monsanto and Syngenta are literally inside the government and agencies such as FDA and EPA.

I don't think the labelling in the US will happen anytime soon, and if it does, It wil be most likely on appearance, so their interests are not menaced.

  • Why aren't they labeling it, if other countries already started to?

  • I agree that we should ask farmers what they are farming and how, but I disagree that a government/policing intervention is the right method to get to the goal. Watchdog media and smart consumers are the key. Government ain't my nanny --to fix it all.
