  • Kids these days never have seen or heard of a rotary phone before. They would probably be wondering ," What the heck is that penguin doing with those holes in the ice at the end of the theme? "

  • @telewatcher89 Yes, 1987. I was between the ages of 7 and 9 and would watch Woody Woodpecker and Chilly Willy every weekday after school. These were considered "retro" cartoons then, same with Popeye. At this time in the 80's, the newer cartoons were the draw - Muppet Babies, The Chipmunks, Duck Tales, He-Man and She-Rah, Inspector Gadget, Dennis The Menace, Thundercats, Heathcliff,

  • Hahaha, the part where Chilly uses the ice as a rotary phone was funny! :D I wish I could see Chilly Willy on tv, but the voice actor died. :(

They should have a month where they show all sorts of retro cartoons on tv! :D

  • oh wow!! i havent seen this in years!! brings a tear to the eye bacause i rememeber watching this after school, that was 24yrs ago!!

  • OMG imma gunna die of cuteness overload...gaaah call the paramedics...Chilly Willy is so adorable! :D

  • @apossumsbestfriend agreed.

  • Oh, much earlier that 1987! We were watching this in 1975! The cartoons were even better then! The newer cartoons were not as funny in the 1980s because the ones in the 1970s had (believe it or not) an adult kind of sense of humor vs. what became over the top slap-stick silly. The original Mel Blanc material and the rest had it right!

  • There was another version...where's that one?

  • @apossumsbestfriend haha i still have one and i always played with it when i was a little kid

  • @AmericanEvita Those are some great shows! We need to have those on DVD. As well as the rest of the Woody Woodpecker cartoons and the intro and bumpers from this show.
