Wider World of Sports - http://www.facebook.com/KennyMayneESPN

Kenny Mayne travels to Nicaragua for "Wider World of Sports" and checks out chililo fighting. Chilillo fighting at the Fiestas Patronales takes place in the town of San Juan de Oriente in Nicaragua. It is an integral part of the town's celebration of Patron Saint John the Baptist. Since the early 1500's when they learned the custom from their Spanish occupiers, the people of San Juan de Oriente have practiced this sport, fighting each other with "swords" made from petrified bull penises during the annual celebration. Men, women, and children all take part in the chilillo fighting which is judged by a holy man dressed in a horse costume. While there are no "winners and losers" per se...the fighting is intense, with the whip-like swords leaving scars and causing fair amounts of damage in the more active fights.
