Coast Guard Training Exercise On 9/11: "Felony Stupidity"

Live footage of CNN as the network learns that vessels in a restricted part of the Potomac River were participating as part of a Coast Guard training exercise - on the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

CNN experts react to the fact that this took place on September 11. Homeland Security correspondent Jeanne Meserve said, "What were they thinking to do this on this particular day? ... I'm speechless over the whole thing." Also, Frances Townsend called it "felony stupidity." But nobody was more outraged than law enforcement analyst Mike Brooks. He called the fiasco "unconscionable." "It is unbelievable to me," he said.

Pathetic journalism CNN. I live near the Delaware river and I see the USCG patrolling all of the time with helicopters. It's what they do. No shots were fired either.

Maybe they planned on running the exercise to show that at least some people are still keeping a close eye on security. They don't want another "man-made disaster" as O'Bama and the left wing calls it.

The Coast Guard shouldn't have to apologize for anything . They are only doing their jobs, and as much as people may not like to realize it 9/11 will become less important in everyday life and become any other day, hard to realize but true freaking out every time some people do something on a certain day will not help either.

Comparing the day thousands of Americans died to New Years or Christmas is idiotic.

The fact is gunshots were reported and it was on the anniversary of 9/11 and next to the pentagon. The concern was there and deserved reporting.

Just to clarify CNN wasn't the only news source reporting on this either.
