The hospital hearing is finally over, and Cass and Frankie are at home. It's evening, and Cass is poking at the logs in the fireplace with the poker. Frankie asks if this is some sort of penance. The hospital board suspended Jamie, and Cass feels partly responsible. Frankie tells Cass he has to stop blaming himself, and she's not into punishment, she's into growth. She reminds Cass that Jamie wasn't fired, he was suspended until the board makes a decision. Cass wonders when that decision will be. Frankie points out that Jamie stopped the hearing and admitted he was wrong. He made an example of himself, knowing that the board would discipline him, and that's the first step in starting over. The suspension won't last forever. Cass agrees that Jamie did make an example of himself deliberately, then asks Frankie if she thinks Jamie and Kelsey will make it as a couple. Frankie has her doubts about that. By now, Cass has stopped messing with the fireplace poker, and he and Frankie are sitting on the floor.
"I sure am glad this is over, though," Frankie says. She moves across the floor until she's right in front of Cass.
"I missed you so much, Mary Frances," Cass says.
"It's just us now, sweetheart," Frankie replies with a smile. She kisses him, and their arms go around each other, and Cass nuzzles her cheek, making her laugh, and the moment is perfect...
...which is when Christy comes barging in, again without knocking or ringing the doorbell, talking about how her timing is great as usual. (Uh, not from where Cass and Frankie, or we, are sitting, Christy.) Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
I agree.
