:( You can tell I've had a bad day. I sound so sulky in this video, good grief. Yeah, not the best day, inspiration wise, as you can probably tell. I did get the words for the day done but I'm not necessarily HAPPY with them. Then again I'm not happy with much of anything today, sooo...
Here's today's excerpt:
----
Reaching out, Cole took his mother's hand in his own and squeezed it lightly. She looked down at that grip and then up at her son's face as though she did not understand. That confusion tumbled away within moments and the slightest of smiles surfaced, touched and grateful. She reached out and briefly brushed her fingers over Cole's cheek and then went back to simply sitting quietly, Theodore remaining at the window, Cole propped up on the bed, looking discreetly from one parent to the other, one Beta to the next.
He did not like what he saw, the sorrow and guilt they wore, but there was something in his father's grim expression that gave him the faintest flicker of hope. Determination, the resolute drive to make things right, by any means necessary. Cole could only hope that it swept through the pack, a ripple effect. They had lost two of their own, one loss sweeping viciously into the next and the burial would be brutal, laced with shock and anger and disbelief. The pack was suffering, but they had to rise above, claw their way back up from the ground and launch themselves, rejuvenated by the need for vengeance and retribution, back into the fight. The vampires had taken too much from them already, Cole believed that much with all his heart and soul. They could not be allowed to take anything else, not a single thing, and certainly not the pack's pride.
