The country can rise up with pride in the world Defence Secretary

Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has said that Sri Lankans had proved to the world through the military victory that there is nothing they cannot do.

Joining in the Thulawa programme yesterday, the Defence Secretary pointed out that as a pride nation Sri Lanka had received the strength to stand straight in the world. Sri Lanka remained at a low ebb considering that it cannot do anything. But Sri Lanka that was to be lost and divided, was saved and was able to regain the lost pride There is self-confidence in every citizen. He was optimistic that no one would in future think in a negative manner. Everyone is delighted over the achievements.
Todays achievements are significant, as the victories had been gained in the face of betrayals by certain elements. Due to their initiatives, the world, specially the West started interfering in the countrys affairs. It is they who submitted facts providing an opportunity for them to impress upon the island. With or without their knowledge they were supporting the LTTE. The Defence Secretary observed that todays victories had been gained by defeating such forces. He added that there were influences against the humanitarian operations from the world as well as within this country. He claimed that a majority raised voices from within the country. But everyone is today aware that it is the truth what the government said in open platforms.
